A shocking crime has emerged from Visakhapatnam (Vizag) where a Navy havildar, Rahul Singh (27), has been arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, Shilpa (23), and chillingly storing her body in a refrigerator for several days.
Police investigations revealed that Singh and Shilpa, who had been in a relationship for two years and lived together, frequently argued. The motive reportedly stemmed from Singh’s suspicion that Shilpa was having an affair, coupled with his desire to end their relationship. On October 12, during a heated dispute, Singh allegedly strangled Shilpa to death. To conceal the crime, he purchased a large refrigerator and hid her body inside.
The gruesome act came to light when Singh was caught attempting to dispose of the body in a car near an isolated area. Alert residents noticed suspicious activity and informed the police. Upon interrogation, Singh confessed to the murder. He has since been taken into custody, and a case has been registered. The incident has sent shockwaves across the city.
