This premier economic event is positioned to accelerate India’s economic transformation, with anticipated investment agreements potentially totaling nearly ₹10 lakh crore, marking a significant milestone for Andhra Pradesh and the nation’s growth ambitions.
A Landmark Event for India's Economic Vision
The CII Partnership Summit 2025, themed "Partners in Progress - India’s Roadmap to Viksit Bharat 2047," serves as a high-level platform fostering global business partnerships, innovation, and sustainable development. Hosted jointly by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and CII, the summit features 48 sessions covering trade, technology, future industrialization, and state-specific forums.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the summit, setting the tone for two days of intensive dialogue on India's global leadership, economic reforms, and technology-driven growth. The summit attracted over 100 international delegates, including representatives from G20 nations and global organizations, discussing key subjects from artificial intelligence and quantum computing to green energy and sustainable industry.
Major Investment Agreements and Economic Impact
A highlight of the summit is the formalization of approximately 410 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), collectively valued at around ₹9.76 lakh crore (about $120 billion). These agreements span multiple sectors such as renewable energy, IT, electronics, manufacturing, and green technologies. The investments linked to these MoUs are expected to create around 7.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs in the region, significantly boosting employment and regional development.
Andhra Pradesh's government has already secured ₹3.65 lakh crore in investment deals ahead of the summit, positioning the state as a magnet for business and innovation. Notable projects include the establishment of tech hubs like "IT Hills," large-scale renewable energy ventures, and infrastructure upgrades in ports and industrial corridors.
A Forward-Looking Economic Agenda
The summit also focused on India's macroeconomic resilience and growth trajectory. India’s economy is forecasted to grow at 6.2% in 2025 and 6.3% in 2026, outpacing global averages, positioning itself to become the world's third-largest economy by 2028 with a GDP exceeding USD 5 trillion.
Speakers emphasized the importance of global supply chain diversification, strategic investments in research and development, and harnessing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation. Andhra Pradesh’s vision aligns with India’s broader ambition, Viksit Bharat 2047, aiming for inclusive and sustainable development.
Local and Global Collaborations
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other state officials engaged in multiple bilateral discussions aimed at cultivating strong international and domestic collaborations. The summit featured inaugural sessions on trade, technology, and innovation, and laid foundations for projects by global corporations including Google's technology initiatives and major industrial conglomerates.
The successful hosting of the summit highlights Visakhapatnam’s strategic importance as an emerging economic hub on India’s eastern coast, characterized by its thriving ports, growing IT sector, and investments in future-oriented industries.
The CII Partnership Summit 2025 stands as a testament to India's rising global economic stature and Andhra Pradesh's commitment to becoming a focal point for innovation, investment, and sustainable growth.
