Visakhapatnam is buzzing with festive energy as the city gears up to welcome 2026. Hotels and resorts across Vizag and nearby Alluri Sitharama Raju district are witnessing record-level occupancy, thanks to the influx of tourists from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. With the long holiday weekend and pleasant winter climate, Vizag has become the go-to coastal destination for many families and travellers this festive season.
From the scenic Beach Road to the serene Rushikonda and RK Beach, every corner of the city is alive with activity. Araku Valley and Lammasingi — the hill getaways nearby — are also seeing a surge in visitors seeking cooler weather and foggy morning views. Due to the heavy demand, hotel tariffs have skyrocketed, and even tent accommodations in tribal areas are being booked for around ₹1,000 per night.
Adding to the festive vibe, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has intensified cleaning drives along Beach Road and increased security presence in tourist-heavy areas. Traffic police have also issued special advisories to manage the flow of vehicles heading towards beaches and hilltop viewpoints.
